1. Read Daniel 9:20-27 as a group.
2. What's something you had to wait a long time for? Was it worth the wait?

3. In what ways do you feel personally affected when sin is uncovered in the life of your church?
4. Why did Daniel receive such a prompt answer to his prayer? (9:23)
5. When have you struggled to understand the Lord’s response to your prayers?

6. What was Gabriel’s purpose in visiting Daniel? (9:22)
7. What are the major points Gabriel makes in his words to Daniel in verse 24?
8. What do you think would be God’s purpose in revealing to Daniel the things Gabriel speaks of in verses 25–27?
9. How should we live as God’s people, knowing that He is in control of history and that His purposes will ultimately be accomplished.

12. Reflect: “God’s plan … is far grander than bringing the people back in to the land at the end of 70 years.” Take time to reflect on the following questions and biblical verses.
