Prayer with Confession – Daniel 9:1-19

Ice Breaker

1. Read Daniel 9:1-19 as a group.
2. Continue praying for our Wednesday Family Night initiative beginning. We are asking the Lord to use these evenings to strengthen families, nurture faith across generations, and create a welcoming place where our church family can grow together in Christ.
   1. a) Prayerfully consider how the Lord may be inviting you to participate. If you are interested in serving, please see the bulletin announcement, visit the Church Center App, or let one of our leaders know.
   2. b) Pray that the families who come will be encouraged, discipled, and drawn closer to Jesus and to one another.

Loving God Unreservedly

3. What are some ways the Scriptures can and should shape our prayers?
4. Read Daniel’s prayer out loud. As you do so, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any patterns of sinfulness or rebellion in your own life that need to be confessed. (9:4-19)
5. In what ways does this passage reveal God's mercy and justice, and what do these attributes tell us about His character?

6. What was the nature of Daniel’s confession? (9:4–6)
7. How did Daniel expect that God in His righteousness would punish an unfaithful Israel? (9:7–11)
