What we Value and Teach

  1. Expositional Preaching : The point of sermons comes from the point of the scripture. We seek to hear from God, not man. The agenda of our church is shaped by the Scriptures.
  2. Biblical Theology : We seek to hear and learn the whole counsel of God from Genesis through Revelation.
  3. Biblical Understanding of Prayer : Prayer is offering up our desires to God for things agreeable to His will. The act of true prayer changes us first and then our circumstances so that His will might be done on earth as it is in heaven.
  4. Biblical Understanding of the Gospel : The Gospel is the heart of the Christian Life. It is not about personal improvement, but is the solution to our rebellious estrangement from God.
  5. Biblical Understanding of Conversion : Every person needs a radical conversion at the very core of being that only God can accomplish. The evidence of conversion is godly fruit displayed in the life of the believer.
  6. Biblical Understanding of Evangelism : In order to share the gospel rightly we must first understand the gospel rightly.
  7. Biblical Understanding of Church Membership : Church membership means that our body will be made up of believers who have explicitly given testimony of their faith and submission to the Lordship of Christ and who show evidence of personal conversion.
  8. Biblical Understanding of Fellowship : Biblical fellowship is a relationship of inner unity among believers that is seen and experienced outwardly as we follow Christ together in accomplishing God's will and mission on earth.
  9. Biblical Understanding of Discipline : The primary goal of biblical church discipline is to maintain a healthy body by restoring wayward believers to a proper relationship with God and with the congregation.
  10. Biblical Understanding of Christian Discipleship and Growth : Our church will be focused on faithfulness that emphasizes depth rather than breadth. Increasing holiness is the true sign of growth.
  11. Biblical Understanding of Leadership : The Bible clearly teaches that there should be a plurality of elders to lead and guide each local body of believers. We believe that church leadership must be understood in its congregational context, consistent with biblical qualifications, committed to Christ-likeness and reflective of God's nature and character.
  12. Biblical Understanding of Worship : Worship is the proper response of all moral beings to God, ascribing all honor and worth to their Creator precisely because He is worthy.
  13. Biblical Understanding of Missions : The last instruction that Christ gave prior to ascending to heaven was to make disciples of all nations. The final goal of all things is that God might be worshipped with affection by a redeemed company of countless persons from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.
