At Clovis Ev Free we understand that your 4th - 6th graders are a very unique group. Not wanting to be treated like children, and not yet ready for junior high youth ministry.

That is why the BEACH got invented.

The BEACH (Bible Exploration and Choosing Him) targets your 4th-6th graders with the truth of God's word in a 4th-6th culturally relevant way.

We use videos, games, skits, you name it, to teach your kids about God's truth, as well as an interactive website where kids share thoughts about lessons and prayer requests throughout the week.

Currently we are meeting on Wednesday nights at Pastor Chip's (2173 Austin Ave, Clovis) house for GRAPPLE.

Schedule:

August 6th - Grapple at Pastor Chip's House (6:30-8:00)

August 13th - Grapple at Pastor Chip's House (6:30-8:00)

August 20th - Grapple Goes to Grizzlies Game/Hawk Nelson concert
Cost is $15 for game and concert. Meet at church at 4:00. Call Traci Burdette for more details.

Special Events
Wanting to be ever sensitive to the needs of children and their growing families, we continually evaluate and add new programs and events to our Children's Ministry. Some of our current special events are shown below. Please see the church website or contact the Children's Ministry staff at 292-3344 or at chip@clovisevfree.org for more information about special events for children and their families.
        Family Fun Events
Throughout the year we hold many different events as opportunities for parents and kids to have fun together and worship together. Every quarter we have our Family Celebration Service where parents are invited to join with their elementary kids in worship service built for families. Other events include Family Movie Night, Family Winter Olympics, and Family Game Days. More events are in the planning
      Vacation Bible School
Each summer, we offer a 5-day Vacation Bible School program for 4 year olds through 6th graders. The purpose of VBS is to provide a fun-filled, spiritual adventure for boys and girls that provides concentrated Bible study and encourages real-life application. Each day includes fun Bible-learning activities, snacks, music, recreation, missions and crafts. The goal is to help children know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and to equip them to follow in His footsteps.
  Fall Family Festival
A Fall Festival is held during the evening on October 31 each year. This event is open to all CEFC attenders, their friends and the especially the community. The purpose of the Fall Festival is to give families a positive alternative to traditional trick or treating. This event is filled with fun from beginning to end! Children are encouraged to wear their costumes and enjoy moonwalks, games, a cake walk, giant slide, dunk tank, and much more. Hot dogs are served for a nominal charge and children receive lots of candy and prizes. Parents enjoy the evening as much as their kids and many people without kids come to enjoy the fellowship or to serve. A silent auction will be held. The coffee house will be open as well.
       Dads and Kids Campout
Dads and kids (age 3 - 12) head up to the mountians on Friday night to Sunday morning. Events include fishing, games, singing at the campfire, and some great cooking. Such a great time for Dads and kids to hang out together.
  Clovis Country Fair
This year we will hold our second annual Clovis Country Fair. In Spring, families and friends join together for country fair games and a picnic lunch on the church front lawn. Everyone is welcome. Activities may include: chili cook-off, pie bake contest, sack races, lawn games, egg toss, hot dog eating contest, a giant egg hunt, petting zoo, pony rides, and a live band. Registration forms can be found by clicking the Clovis Country Fair link above.
     Other Children's Events
Other special events are held periodically throughout the year for kids and the families. Check the church bulletin or the web site for information about special events.

The name Truth & Training reflects the passion of Awana to teach third grade boys and girls the truth of God's Word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives. Our goal is that many of today's young people will become tomorrow's church leaders. T&T is the program that trains the leaders of tomorrow — today.

Exciting features to get kids excited about God's Word
T&T is equipped with a variety of dynamic tools to accomplish this mission: Four handbooks of increasing difficulty which teach children that life's ultimate adventure is a personal relationship with Jesus ChristA cast of fun characters that boys and girls learn from and follow on interesting journeys in the handbooksWeekly meetings that expose children to the gospel message, Scripture memory, Bible study, awards, team-oriented games and gut-busting funA Bible-centered curriculum that helps kids build a firm foundation for their faith, hide God's Word in their heart and apply the truths of Scripture to their daily livesInteractive CDs that use exciting high-tech games to teach and reinforce key biblical truths Evangelism and discipleship go hand in hand in our third grade program. By the time a child has completed T&T, he will have: Learned and reviewed approximately 310 versesStudied dozens of passages from the Old and New TestamentRegularly heard and read the gospel messageDiscovered the Bible's response to questions like "How does God want me to live my life?" and memorized verses to back up these answersCompleted missions projects that help him see the world through God's eyes.

One of the best things we've got going on says the kids. Our celebration service is a church service just for kids Kindergarten through 3rd grade.

In the large group time, kids get to worship with the live Celebration band, play very fun and creative games, participate in the birthday stool, and other fun and kid relevant things.

We also use creative staff-written skits to teach the truth of God's word before dismissing them to join their small group leaders in an activity that helps them better understand that truth.

Your kids will leave Celebration begging to come back to church next week. Just watch!

(Also once a quarter, Celebration invites the whole family for a family Celebration service. Parents and siblings are invited to a worship service for the entire family.)

Our goal at Clovis Ev Free is for the 2nd and 3rd graders to gain a better understanding of the God that loves them. Through the use of a curriculum called "Children Desiring God," kids will walk through the 08-09 school year learning about the redemptive history of Jesus from the very beginning to where we stand now.

We use creative teaching, games, and small group discussion time to help your children truly understand who God is.

Otters and Ponies
Using a combination of active and interactive learning methods and exciting storytelling tools, we'll help children discover, understand, and apply God's word. Each hour allows time for free play and exploration, music time, a teaching time, and an activity and application time.

Our preschool curriculum also welcomes you to play an important part in what your child is learning. Since the mission statement of Children's Ministries at CEFC is "to partner with families in bringing their children to Christ," we are excited about the ways you can participate with us. Each week when you pick up your child, you'll receive a "Today I learned..." handout and coloring page. This handout will tell you what we did in class and will provide you with questions and activities to help you reinforce the Bible lesson at home. We hope you'll take advantage of this helpful tool.

Our weekly celebration gatherings are intended to point us to Christ and bring honor and glory to Him. Through God's Word in music, media, and message we pray that our worship will be heart-felt and our lives open to God's Holy Spirit to change us into who He would have us be. We hope you'll find a warm friendly fellowship and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of our worship gatherings.

Two Service Schedule!
Our service times are 9:00 a.m., and 10:45 a.m. The services are identical. Pastor Al and the Worship Team will lead this service.

Nursery and Preschool Children 0 to 4 years old and Adult programs are offered at the 9:00 and 10:45 a.m. services. Jr. High and Senior High Programs are offered at the 9:00 service. During the summer, Elementary School Aged Children programs are offered at the 10:45 a.m. service. We invite families with Elementary Children to sit together at the 9 a.m. service.

What is an Adult Bible Fellowship (ABF)?

Adult: Designed for college age and up, to address real and felt needs.

Bible: Focused on the teaching and application of the Word of God to daily living.

Fellowship: Promoting relationships and caring love, a great need in our world.

It is a group or community of people committed to know and apply the Word of God together in a caring fellowship, with organization to bring about pastoral care, discipleship, and outreach? usually divided by age groupings so there is natural affinity and strong bonding. Knute Larson, church pastor & author

One of the best ways for you to get to know people better is to come to one of our ABFs (Adult Bible Fellowships).

These groups meet on Sunday mornings, and are designed to help you make new friends and grow in your understanding of God.

Most groups meet downstairs in the northwest corner of the education building.

We offer the following groups:

"Salt Shakers" at 9:00 a.m. in room #111
This group is for everyone, whether single or married. The study will address both life needs and biblical issues. Several highlights of this group include the monthly fellowship events and the weekly singing of hymns and gospel songs.

"Kingdom Living" at 9:00 a.m.in room #118
This group consists of single and married adults who meet together for biblical teaching and rich dialogue.

"Soul Cafe" at 10:45 a.m. in room #111/118
This group is designed for believers of all ages who want to be further challenged in their walk with God and who want to develop close relationships with other Christians.

"Young Families at 10:45 a.m. in room #213
This group is for married couples with or without children. Special emphasis will be given to areas of marriage and parenting and the application of biblical principles to relationships. You will experience lively discussion through God's Word as well as the building of relationships that will last. Meets every other week. Check Sunday worship bulletin for details.

No Title - What Is WAM?

What Is WAM?We combine Worship with the Creative Arts
to bring seekers and believers into God’s presence;
resulting in salvation, healing, wholeness and spiritual growth
(or resulting in changed lives).

WAM = IMPACT
WE IMPACT . . .
1. You, the Artist – we train and release you to use your gifts in this local church, Clovis EV Free
definition of an art•ist (from Webster's Dictionary)
*a person who practices any of the various creative arts
*a person skilled at a particular task or occupation
2. Believers & Seekers - we lead them into God’s presence

How do we accomplish IMPACT?
I dolize God Alone
M ulti-generational
P roduce Excellence
A lways Adding Artists
C omprehensive Ministry
T hrive

I Idolize God Alone
*We need to be worshipers FIRST, artists second.
*Our art or task is an act of worship
*REMEMBER: worship doesn’t equal music or singing.

M Multi-generational
We need each other! We desire to see all generations working and worshipping together in unity. We choose to learn from each other and appreciate each other’s style and forms of worship, music and art.

P Produce Excellence
We do not strive for perfection, BUT we give God our best.

A Always Adding Artists
There are artists in our church that need to be ministered to and encouraged to join the team.

C Comprehensive Ministry
Our approach to ministry is holistic. The backbone of the Worship Arts Ministry is Sunday mornings, BUT we cannot become internalized; we need to be willing to minister at Celebrate Recovery, Women’s Bible Studies, Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, Awana, etc., wherever the need may arise.

T Thrive
We create rehearsals and training sessions that allow each of us to grow.
*as worshipers - we cannot lead the congregation to places we haven’t been
*spiritually - changed lives, change lives,
*vocationally – musically, dramatically, as ushers, etc.
*in community – this is the place we practice our faith, we learn how to love one another.
